Since its founding in 1991, it has served to accelerate the dispersion of information and knowledge impacting electrical safety.

Governance and long-term strategic planning for the IEEE IAS Electrical Safety Workshop is the responsibility of the Electrical Safety Workshop Committee of the IEEE IAS Petroleum and Chemical Industry Committee. It functions under the Policies of the IEEE, the Constitution and Bylaws of the IEEE Industry Applications Society, and the Bylaws and Operating Policies and Procedures of the IEEE IAS Petroleum and Chemical Industry Committee. The Electrical Safety Workshop SubCommittee meets twice a year – at the annual Petroleum and Chemical Industry Committee (PCIC) Technical Conference in September, and at the annual Electrical Safety Workshop in February. |
