Minutes of the IEEE Buffalo Section Board Meeting

A meeting of the IEEE Buffalo Section Board was held at University At Buffalo Davis Hall, Room 230A, in Amherst, NY, on Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 6:30 PM.

The Secretary is on convalescent leave and tasks have been assigned temporarily to a board member.
Developments in the Buffalo Section’s Balance Sheet:
The Treasurer reported on activity from last month.
By motion, the minutes of the IEEE Buffalo Board meeting held on April 17, 2014, was approved with the following corrections: the Treasurer reported activity from the previous month which was incorrectly stated as a quarterly review; the unknown line item from the quarterly review was reconciled petty cash and deleted from the minutes; the proposed presentation of “Border Patrol Field Engineering” was wrongly designated and deleted from the minutes.
By unanimous vote, the Board
approved membership renewal for the Technical Societies Council.
The Committee Chair of Advertisements reported on the April Tour of Niagara Transformer.
The Chapter Chair of Microwave Theory reported the June Presentation of “Real Life Engineering” was delayed indefinitely.
The Committee Chair of
Advertisements reported on the results of the May AICN Meeting.
The Chapter Chair of Industry Applications reported BEAM TREK was cancelled for 2014.
The Chair approved the Section
Awards for 2014.
The Chair requested advertising for AICN on the TSC Calendar. (Mierzwa)
Chapter Chair of Industry Applications reported the Section Awards Committee
will make its submission to Region 1 by mid-June. (Moskal/ Mierzwa)
The Chair proposed the Annual Section Social be scheduled for August. (Koch/Moskal)
The Chair requested the Section Storage Committee schedule the review of all items in private storage for archiving, storage, or disposal. (Moskal/Ott/ Mierzwa)
The Chair requested a volunteer delegate for the August IEEE Sections Conference. (Koch/Loui)
It was agreed that the next meeting of the Board would be held at UB Davis Hall,  Room 230A, in Amherst, NY, on Thursday, June 19, 2014.
The meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
