Hue Rhodes is a script writer and film director, and a recent graduate for the NYU Tish School of Fine Arts. His directorial debut occurred this Fall with the independent film "Saint John of Las Vegas", starring Steve Buschemi and Sarah Silverman, which will hit New York screens starting November 6. He did not start as a story teller but came to it via a career as a civil engineer trained at Princeton and Stanford. As he tells it: 'As an engineer, I was both advantaged and disadvantaged in making a film. The advantages were a high comfort level with budgeting, scheduling, logistics and operations. The disadvantages were an over-confidence in analysis over instinct, in calculation over impulse. In the end, I had to exploit my engineering strengths, while simultaneously resisting the temptation to "engineer" my film." Go see the movie and then come and spend an evening with the director.
