Biographical Summary
Dr. Satyam Cherukuri has held a variety of positions at Sarnoff Corporation since 1989. In November 2001 he was appointed Chief Operating Officer. In this role, exploiting Sarnoff’s excellence in science and technology, Dr. Cherukuri helped create value for Sarnoff’s clients. He assumed his current role as President and Chief Executive Officer on June 1, 2002.

From January 1999 to January 2001 Dr. Cherukuri served as Managing Director of the Life Sciences and Biotechnology business unit developing leading-edge solutions to the emerging healthcare needs. He helped Sarnoff emerge as a strong player in biotechnology with an emphasis in the convergence of information and solid-state technologies with biological and pharmaceutical sciences. From January 2001 to November 2001 he was Executive Vice President of Operations.

Prior to Sarnoff he was a senior scientist at Olin Corporation specializing in microelectronics packaging.

Dr. Cherukuri received a B.Tech in Ceramic Engineering from Banaras Hindu University, India. He received an M.S. in Glass Science and Ph.D. in Ceramics from Alfred University. He is a member of the American Ceramic Society. He has authored or co-authored more than 12 technical publications and is the inventor or co-inventor on more than 25 U.S. Patents.
