EVENTS PLANNED FOR QUARTER 4, 2004

 

Student Activities

        i.            Annual technical festival of the IEEE student branch at VVCE, Mysore is scheduled for 4th & 5th October 2004. Dr T.Srinivas and Wg.Cdr. Parthasarathy will represent the Section.

       ii.            Annual Technical fest of Basaveswar Engineering College, Bagalkot  “KSHITIJ 2004” is scheduled to be held on 15, 16 & 17th October 2004. Shri. Hitesh Mehta will represent the Section.

     iii.            On 15th October, 2004, as part of the IEEE Student branch’s  technical fest at  Basaveswar Engineering College, Bagalkot, a  half-day Tutorial   on “GSM  Communications” by Wg.Cdr.Parthasarathy is planned by IEEE Bangalore Section.

    iv.            Student branch leadership training workshop is scheduled during the last week of October 2004. SJCE, Mysore is conducting the event under the sponsorship of the Section.

     v.            The Headquarters has approved the formation of New IEEE Student Branch at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Bidar. The inaugural function of the newly formed IEEE Student Branch at Bidar is scheduled during the second week of November 2004.

    vi.            General Talks by SAC and EXECOM members on IEEE are scheduled at Amrita Institute of Technology and PES Institute of Technology, Bangalore during October 2004.

  vii.            Annual Student Paper contest presentations for BRV VARADAN Memorial and Postgraduate awards by the section are scheduled for 27th and 28th November 2004 at Bangalore.

 

Technical Events

Distinguished Lecture on “Recent Developments in FACTS Technology” by PES DL Dr. Kalyan K. Sen on 14th October 2004 from 6 PM in the conference Hall of Southern Regional Load Dispatch Centre, Race Course Road, Bangalore.

IEEE GOLD Affinity Group, Bangalore Section is conducting a 3-part lecture series on "Emerging Information Technologies" by Mr.Puneet Gupta of SETLabs, Infosys at Philips Software Centre, #1, Murphy Road, Banaglore.

Lecture 1: RFID: From State of the Art to the State of the Future

Lecture 2: Pervasive Computing: An Integrated Perspective

 Schedule: 2nd November, 2004, 6:30pm-8:30pm (Tentative)
