Today, the IEEE stands proud with 125 years of rich experience in
fostering technology and empowering technocrats across the globe.
IEEE has been organizing numerous events that benefit its members
and the society. It’s important that they sustain across generations.
It’s essential to brainstorm the challenges, identify the future
leaders and pass on the expertise through the generations. As GOLD
Members are potential future IEEE Leaders, this Congress will be a
great avenue to celebrate good IEEE GOLD Events, share best practices
and to equip GOLD members, young engineers and final year
IEEE student members who form the prospective future GOLD team
with necessary skills to face the Challenges of Next Generation
Leadership.
Objectives of GOLD CONGRESS '09
Young professionals are constantly faced with challenges, an important
one among them being ‘Adapting to Change’. It’s very important
to create awareness among the next generation leaders about
the potential challenges and equip them with the right information,
tools and expertise so that they can contribute to advancement
of science and betterment of the society. Young professionals
have to make many decisions in their career e.g., choosing the
technical or management ladder, right time to add a higher degree,
etc. This Congress aims to provide a forum for the leaders
and potentials leaders of GOLD, Student Members and Young Professionals
to interact with industry captains and eminent academicians
to seek answers to these questions. This may help them in
organizing activities which greatly benefit the GOLD members in
their local sections.
