CDMA for wireless communications

Synopsis.
The fundamental theory of code-division multiple access (CDMA) communication systems will be presented, including an overview of spreading codes and their properties, an overview of direct-sequence spread-spectrum communications systems, and application to CDMA as applied to wireless communications. The application of CDMA to second-generation wireless systems will be reviewed, and the third-generation wireless standards will be overviewed. Some speculation will be given on what
Fourth-generation systems will look like with this session ending with an open discussion period.
