Abstract :
The talk
will be on a class of multi-terminal source compression problem.
In this class of problems, all sources but at most one are
required to be perfectly reconstructed. Representations of such
sources and their connections to factor graphs of their
information theoretic descriptions will be discussed.
Biography of the Speaker :
Soumya Jana got his B.Tech in ECE from IIT Kharagpur, ME in ECE
from IISc, and PhD in EE from U. Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He is
currently a post-doctoral research associate at Illinoise. His
research interests include multi-terminal source coding, decision
theory, transform coding and quantization, and broadcast channel
coding.
