 Artificial Neural Networks
Interest in Artificial Neural Networks dates back to early 1940’s when neurobiological studies and psycho-physical experiments pursued resulted in the development of the first mathematical model of a single neuron. Artificial neural networks have been used for several different kinds of tasks such as classification, clustering, function approximation and optimization.
In recent years the computing paradigm of artificial neural networks has become increasingly important, based on successes in many practical applications like: Artificial Intelligence, Signal Processing, Image Processing and Computer Vision, Robotics, Pattern Recognition, Medicine, Military Systems, Financial Systems, Planning Control & Search, Power Systems, etc. Many emerging applications are more and more relying on artificial neural networks.
Objectives:
This course is mainly aimed at scientists and engineers from R&D organisations and for faculty members and students from engineering colleges. It will also be useful for the people from industry to get exposed to the concepts and applications of artificial neural networks.
Course Coverage :
History of Neural networks, Neural Computing, Neural network architectures, Neural learning, Single-layer neural networks, Perceptron training algorithm, Multi-layer neural networks, Back propagation algorithm, Adaptive multi-layer neural networks, Feed forward neural networks and training, Genetic algorithms for neural network training, Recurrent neural networks, Unsupervised learning, Artificial neural networks hardware and implementation concerns, Applications of artificial neural networks to Image Processing, Robotics & Computer Vision & Process Control.
