Dear Dr. Kumar:
I am delighted to inform you that the AP/ED Bombay Chapter has been
selected as the 2001 recipient of the IEEE Electron Devices Society Chapter
of the Year Award. This award is intended to recognize the quantity and
quality of the activities and programs implemented by the chapters during
the prior July 1st - June 30th period.
A certificate and check for $1,000 will be presented at the 2001
International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM) at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, 3
December, at the Washington Hilton & Towers Hotel, Washington, D.C. I hope
you or a representative from your chapter will be able to attend and accept
the award in person. You are also invited to attend the IEDM Luncheon at
12:20 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4th. If you will need financial assistance
to attend the award ceremony, I am authorized to reimburse you based on
your actual need. Please discuss this matter (if necessary) with Bill Van
Der Vort.
Prior to the presentation at the IEDM, we would also like to announce your
award at the EDS Administrative Committee meeting which will be held on
Sunday, 2 December at the Washington Hilton and Towers Hotel. The
approximate time of the announcement will be 9:00 a.m. During the
afternoon session of the AdCom Meeting, we would appreciate it if you could
give a brief report (5-7 minutes or so) regarding your chapter's activities
this past year, as well as its current and future plans.
Please inform Bill Van Der Vort of the EDS Executive Office at your
earliest convenience whether or not you will be able to attend these
events.
