It is indeed a great encouragement to note that the student activities of IEEE Calcutta section is growing through active participation of the student members in various IEEE programs ,not in Calcutta but also in other sections in India.
IEEE student branch of BIT Mesra organised a Technofest " Unnayan 99 "during 1-3rd October , 1999 at Meshra . Student Members attached to IEEE Calcutta section participated in the " All India M V Chauhan Paper Contest " organised by IEEE India Council at BHU and five of their papers have been awarded merit prizes there.
IEEE Student Branch of Jadavpur University is also actively organising lecture meetings. For year wise details click here : 1999, 2000
The section provides financial subsidy to the new student members as well as to renewal of the present members on the basis of their membership fee to maintain student membership and to continue it's growth. The amounts are mentioned below :-
