The IEEE
Hyderabad Section has won several recognitions from IEEE HQ and R10.
2005 IAS Distinguished
Service Award to Mr. C. Satish. It was given to him during the
IAS Annual Meeting held at Hong Kong in October 2005. This was in
recognition of dedicated and distinguished service to IEEE Industry
Application Society. This is ther first time in its last 17 years of
Awards history that a member from outside USA is chosen to get this
award.
The 2004 R10
Outstanding Volunteer Award was persented to Mr. S Raghunathan
for his outstanding
contribution to the Hyderabad Section activities for last two
decades.
The 2002 R10 Outstanding
Volunteer Award was persented to Dr.
S C Bhargava for his
outstanding contribution to the Hyderabad Section activities over last
two decades.
Mr C.Satish was awarded following IEEE
Awards:
2002 Electrical Safety
Excellence Award given by IEEE Industry Applications Society
Petroleum and Chemical Industry Committee (PCIC) at PCIC 2002 technical
conference at New Orleans on 23 Sept 2002. The citation reads - for
"outstanding dedication and contribution made to advance and accelerate
the dispersion of information and knowledge impacting electrical safety
through activities within and outside Petroleum and Chemical Industry
Committee". He was nominated for this Award by Ms Kim Eastwood, Texas.
2002 IEEE Meritorious Achievement Award in Continuing Education
given by IEEE Educational Activities Board on 15 Nov 2002 at IEEE Board
of Directors meeting at Chicago. The citation reads "for dedicated
service and sustained leadership for over 20 years in the planning and
delivery of a large number and variety of industrially-oriented
continuing education programs in an IEEE Section".He was nominated
to this Award by Dr V Prasad Kodali, Hyderabad,India.

1999 RAB Sustained Section
Membership Growth Award Goes to Hyderabad Section
The IEEE Regional Activities Board has recognized the IEEE Hyderabad
Section as a recipient of the 1999 RAB Sustained Section Membership
Growth Award for their success for Outstanding Leadership and Results
in IEEE Membership Development Activities for Region 10.
INDUSTRY APPLICATIONS
SOCIETY OUTSTANDING SMALL JOINT CHAPTER AWARD The 1999-2000 IAS
Industry Applications society Outstanding Small Joint Chapter Award is
won by theIAS / PES Hyderabad Chapter.
This award was presented in the IAS Annual Conference at Rome in the
second week of October 2000.
RAB ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR
1999 has been awarded to S. Parthasarathy
, for:"Outstanding achievement by providing excellent websites for
the IEEE India Council and other Indian Sections, for sharing views
on technical, education and professional areas of interest of IEEE,
thereby promoting IEEE membership."

OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER AWARD for 1999 was presented to Kalavendi J Sarma, for: "15 years of outstanding service in Hyderabad
section, and for contribution to the success of ia&c-95."
IEEE Spectrum's Quilt Block
Design Contest 1998 Kiran L. Pannala
, an IEEE student member from O U College of Engineering, Hyderabad,
has been declared as the second place winner in the subject
category-Electric Vehicles. His entry-"Reluctant to Align" depicted
switched reluctance motor, and can be seen in the Dec 98 issue of IEEE
Spectrum.

OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER AWARD for 1997 was presented to N. V. Rao, Scientist, D.M.R.L., Hyderabad.
for his outstanding contributin to the Hyderabad Section activities. He
was nominated by Hyderabad Section.
1996 PES Outstanding
Chapter Award was presented to Hyderabad,
India, PES Chapter for: "excellence in chapter performance, the
Hyderabad,India Chapter, under the leadership of Chapter Chair
C.Satish, is awarded the 1996 PES Outstanding Chapter Award. In winning this award, the Hyderabad,India
Chapter also garners the distinction of becoming the first chapter
outside of North America to do so."
Outstanding Branch
Counsellor and Advisor 1993-94 was presented to P. V. D. Somasekara Rao of J.N.T.U. College
of Engineering, Hyderabad.
2nd Prize of the 1992 IEEE
Asia Pacific Region Student Paper Contest was won by D. Viswa Sai Kumar, Vinay Kumar, and K. Shravan Kumar

Outstanding Student Branch Chairman was presented to Babu C Reddy of College of Engineering, S.
V. University, Tirupathi.
VINCENT BENDIX AWARD
1988-89 was presented to S. I. Reddy and
Ch. V. Narasimha Rao of College of Engg., S.V. University,
Tirupathi, for their project: Microprocessor based, portable, 3 kV
surge comparison tester.
VINCENT BENDIX AWARD
1987-88 was presented to K. V. Subba
Rao, C. Anantha Ram, and B. Srinath Babu of R.E.C. Warangal,
for their project: Electronic tri-vector meter.
