Pakistan Student Congress

Hope you fine. I am pleased to inform you that IEEE Lahore Section student branches actively participated in the IEEE Pakistan Student Congress 2009 at NUST Islamabad. Following are the details:

Students from UET Lahore, UMT Lahore & COMSAT Lahore could not participate due to their exams.

 

17 Students from BUITMS, Queta registered from Lahore section.

58 students out of total 100 participants were from Lahore section.


 
Programe committee consisted of Osid Khaliq (NUST), Om Perkash (RSR), Amir Zahoor (SSR Lahore), Rafaeel Akber (GOLD Lahore) and Shahab Saddique (SAC Chair Karachi). 

Deceleration Committee consisted of Om perkash, Amir Zahoor, Osaid Khaliq and Rafaeel Akber.

 

14 Speakers delivered talks on different IEEE related topics.

I delivered two Talks; First one on "Pakistan, Why proud to be a Pakistani" and Second one on "Leadership Workshop" for the IEEE students branches.

Mr. Rafaeel Akber presented GOLD activities.

Strategic Planning Activity, Lahore section volunteers did a great job. 
At the end of student congress, a draft has been formulated as IEEE PSC deceleration.

 
IEEE Pakistan Student Congress is a great platform to network student branches across Pakistan and share their experiences. It provide a forum for students to interact and promote national integration. Hope this platfrom will serve Pakistan in a better way in future Inshallah.

 
Further more the Program Committee had meetings with Prof. Dr. Arshad, DG NUST as well as SAC Chair Islamabad Section. We discussed different issues related to Student Activities and suggested some points for Islamabad Section. I realized that IEEE Lahore section is the most active Section in student activities. Dr. Arshad appreciated IEEE PSC working and announced 4 internships for IEEE members - 2 for IEEE Student Members from Lahore and 2 for Student Members from Karachi.

 
Second meeting was done with Islamabad Section Chair Mr. AVM Saleem Tariq. He also appreciated the working of PSC. I raised the need of more interaction and collaboration among the three IEEE Sections in Pakistan. He also discussed to establish IEEE Pakistan Council.

 
Mr. AVM Saleem Tariq and Dr. Arshad showed their interest to have interaction and participation in joint meetings with Lahore and Karachi sections.

 
Hope this congress will help to promote awareness among Pakistani students and bring them closer.
