Dear Members of Madras Section,

I am delighted to inform you that the IEEE HQ Senior Member Admission & Advancement Committee has scheduled its April 06 meeting at BANGALORE,India. This has happened due to persistent efforts of the Bangalore Execom member Mr.Hitesh Mehta to HQ requesting one of the A&A meetings to be held in India.

With A&A Meeting for elevation to SM to be held in Bangalore in April 06 (actual dates to be yet announced), it is now the pleasure and duty of our Section to get the best out of this and get the maximum number of members elevated to SM. I suggest each Section's EXCOM Members & volunteers to take special efforts towards this as follows:

1.	Identify in the section ALL members ELIGIBLE for SM elevation.
2.	Contact them, and ask them to prepare resumes highlighting their achievements and recognitions.
3.	Section/Society Chapter to send nomination to HQ of each eligible member for SM.
4.	Draw up a panel of SMs & Fellows who can furnish references for these members.
5.	We may arrange one or two full day SENIOR MEMBER campaigns ('mela') wherein computers with internet connections are set up and preloaded with members' resumes. Call member candidates and referee members to attend. Referee members will fill in reference

forms right there online for the eligible members.The above will ensure maximum applications for SM elevation when the April A&A meeting is held in Bangalore. Note there is HQ incentive to Sections/Societies for successfully nominating members for SMs. Please form a committee with your MD Chair and volunteers to facilitate the

Large volume of work involved.

Let us make this April 2006 a date for SMs to remember.
