Dr.P.Suresh Chander Pal, was born on 20th February 1937.He received the B.E(Electrical) degree from Madras University(1958) and he was awarded the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, by the International University of Contemporary Studies, Washington D.C(2006).He joined Tamil Nadu Electricity Board in 1958,worked in various capacities in transmission, generation and distribution wings and retired from the State service, as Board Member, in 1995.He was deputed by the Government of India, to Srilanka, for assessment and rehabilitation works, during the LTTE hostilities in 1987.


He has been active in IEEE,since1988 and he is the recipient of 2001 third Millennium medal,2002 Outstanding PES Chapter Engineer Award and several certificates/awards from IEEE and Lions Clubs International. He is a Life Member and Fellow in Institution of Engineers(India),IETE, Institution of Valuers and he has participated in international Seminars/Congresses at Manila(Phillipines),Montreal(Canada),Seattle,Chicago,Florida, Yokohama(Japan),Penang, Singapore, Bangkok, Beijing,Kaula Lumpur(Malaysia) etc.,
He was the Chairman,IEEE Madras Section(2004-’06). Currently, he is the Vice_Chair, IEEE India Council (Student Activity) and Student Activity Chair, IEEE Madras Section, Vice-Chair, IEEE PES, Madras Chapter, Lions District 324-A6 Chairperson, International Understanding & Co-operation, President, TNEB Retired Officials’ Association and Consultant, Brakes India Ltd.(group companies), at Chennai
He is married to Uma and they have one son/d-in-law, in U.S. and two grandchildren.
