2.      Women in Engineering Affinity Group

In mid-May IEEE approved the formation of a Baltimore affinity group of the Women in Engineering society. Since late 2001, Baltimore has been part of the Washington D.C./Northern Virginia/Baltimore affinity group. This group meets regularly and has had several activities since its formation including symposiums for students and working engineers and speakers from the area. Their newest project is scholarships to local high school students. The formation of a Baltimore affinity group will allow us to more effectively serve the women in this section while still working cooperatively with the DC/Northern Virginia group.

The IEEE Baltimore Section will invite your participation in the election of the IEEE WIE Affinity Group for the Baltimore Chapter officers. A future meeting is being planned.
