Robotics and Automation Society Chapter Formed
Members of the Washington Section who belong to the Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) now have a local chapter.
The chapter was approved in April 2007, after Dr. Raj Madhavan gathered signatures on a petition and submitted it to the Regional Activities Board for approval of a new chapter.
Dr. Madhavan has been named chapter chair until officer elections are held. He is a research staff member with the Computational Sciences and Engineering Division of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and a guest researcher with the Intelligent Systems Division of the Manufacturing Engineering Laboratory (MEL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
