Biography: Mr. Williams is a
Principal Member of the Technical Staff at TASC, Inc., specializing in
applying software systems engineering concepts and methodologies.
He is a member of the Virginia Joint Commission on Technology and
Science - Y2K Advisory committee, Northern Virginia (NOVA) IEEE
Computer Society (Chair), and NOVA IEEE Section (Secretary). He
is currently the Y2K Project Manager for one of TASC's customers.
Mr. Williams also provides system lifecycle engineering and
IV&V support to government organizations developing
object-oriented software intensive systems. He is involved in
developing requirements, reviewing and monitoring all phases of
systems development (i.e., analysis, design, implementation,
testing, O&M, etc.), and establishing verification plans and
processes for systems being acquired by the government. He is
supporting programs associated with the global broadcast
dissemination of near real-time tactical intelligence information
to U.S. and allied forces, the migration of a enterprise network
from a NeXT operating system to Windows NT, and the deployment of
enterprise and network management information system
applications.
Mr. Williams' experience in software development includes
working in the areas of: distributed systems, satellite command
and control systems, smart weapons, automatic test equipment,
secondary imagery dissemination, and tactical data dissemination.
He has worked for McDonnell-Douglas Corp in St Louis, Mo.,
Northrop Electronics Systems Division in Hawthorne, CA, and TASC,
Inc. in Chantilly, VA. Mr. Williams' interests are in object-oriented
analysis and design, software testing, metrics, and software life-cycle
process improvement. Mr. Williams holds a MS degree in Software
Systems Engineering from George Mason University and a BS degree in
Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla.
