Jeff Poston has been a member of the IEEE since 1987 and was recently elevated to Senior member. He currently serves as Secretary of the Northern Virginia Section and has held officer positions in the Signal Processing Society (SPS) and the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS).
His technical interests are interdisciplinary, as reflected in his techical society memberships in the Communication Society, the Computer Society, EMBS and SPS. He has an individual membership in the IEEE Standards Association, and he previously held voting positions in the IEEE 802.22 and 802.16 standards committees.
Jeff Poston currently works as an R&D Principal Investigator at MITRE where he has developed prototype cognitive radios for dynamic spectrum access and other applications. His professional experience supporting the telecommunications, defense and intelligence communities extends nearly two decades and spans analysis, design, prototyping and implementation.
