Timothy F. Settle joined IEEE in 1982 and is a Senior member. He has served as the Chair of the Northern Virginia chapter of the Signal Processing Society since 2004.
He received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Purdue University in 1998 and 1991 respectively. He received his B.S. degree from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1982.
Dr. Settle joined IvySys Technologies, Inc. in 2008 as the Vice President of Advanced Systems Concepts. Previously, he was a Senior Research Engineer with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) from 2003 to 2008, where he conducted research and advanced development in communication and image processing systems.
Prior to his work with SAIC, Dr. Settle served as the Vice President for Research and Advanced Technology for Pathfire, Inc. in Roswell, Georgia from 2000 to 2003. From 1992 to 2000 he served as a senior member of the technical staff in the corporate research department of Thomson Consumer Electronics in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he helped develop the Digital Satellite System (DSS) which ushered in the era of satellite delivery of digital home entertainment. He worked for Texas Instruments from 1982 to 1992 serving as a member of the technical staff for automotive electronic systems.
Dr. Settle is the holder of seven patents and he has authored several technical papers.
