Abstract: Data centers have two connections to the outside world: a connection to electrical power and a connection to the network. Without power, information technology becomes worthless. Data center managers need a power system that delivers the quality and reliability their IT systems require.
Running a critical data center also demands an understanding of the cost of delivering a certain level of availability. By considering all aspects of the power system – design, operation, and management – the system can be optimized to drive efficiency without compromising availability.
Join Shaun Sheerbaum of Donwil Company and Emerson Network Power for an interactive exchange on the components of a data center power system and how to configure a system for high availability. We’ll cover what each component does and why it does it, guidelines for specifying criticality, selection and application of available technologies, and new industry trends. |
