Kiki Ikossi is a Senior Member of IEEE and served as the Washington Section's Chair in 2007, Vice Chair in 2006, Treasurer in 2005 and Secretary in 2004.

She is a member of the Technical Program Committee for the International Microwave Symposium (IMS) and served as the Chair of the High Power Amplifiers and Components TPC-IMS 2003-2004. Dr. Ikossi has served in many capacities in the Washington/Northern Virginia Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTTS) and is a member of the MTT-5 Committee promoting high power amplifier techniques.

Dr. Ikossi is a founding member of the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Washington Area Affinity Group, and served as the group's Secretary in 2001, Vice-Chair in 2002 and 2003, and Chair in 2004. During her tenure, membership in the group, which became one of the most active groups in the region, more than doubled.

She is a member of the IEEE-USA communications committee, and an evaluator for the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET).

Dr. Ikossi's area of professional expertise is in advanced micro and nano electronic devices in exploratory materials. She has published many scientific papers and holds several patents. She is an Affiliate Professor at George Mason University and President of I-Cube Inc. Dr. Ikossi has held positions both in academia and in major research labs. She was a tenured Associate Professor at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge; a research fellow and senior scientist at the Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, D.C.; and a senior scientist at Wright Paterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio.

She has Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and a B.S.E.E. from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece.
