Chapter Initiative
Central North Carolina Section has
received approval for its formation
of an IEEE Computer Society Chapter. Chip Dawson has been appointed
Interim Chair of the Chapter until elections can be held. 8/18/99
| In order to better serve the membership of the Central
North Carolina section the executive committee has approved the initiative to form a IEEE
Computer Society Chapter www.computer.org . The goal of the executive committee is to have a Society Chapter organizational meeting in June or July 1999. The outcome of this meeting would be an application to IEEE to form the Chapter in the section. We have contacted the Winston-Salem Section to see if they are interested in joint formation of the chapter. Our section has over 100 members who are members of the IEEE computer Society. To form a chapter 12 Section members who are members of the Computer Society must be willing to participate in the formation of a Chapter.
