PROGRAM: Dr. Blanton Godfrey
"Six Sigma and today's professional" Dr. Blanton Godfrey believes that Six Sigma is a tool that should be in every professional's tool box. Six Sigma is a continual improvement process tool that uses the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control approach. SPEAKER: Dr. Godfrey is the Dean of NC State University's College of Textiles blanton_godfrey@ncsu.edu. His distinguished career includes more than 12 years at Juran Institute as Chairman and CEO, 14 years in quality assessment and management at AT&T Bell Laboratories, and teaching positions at some of the nation's top universities. He has editorial responsibilities for "SIX SIGMA FORUM", the only six sigma magazine. Note from Marvin Neiditz "My first introduction to Six Sigma was at a PACE meeting in Phoenix, 1986 or 87. Our Motorola hosts gave the presentation. That one lecture affected my whole way of approaching a new project and changed my way of looking at my then current work. Yes, it's somewhat like a 12 step program ... you never get there ... but there's so much to be gained in the trying."
