IEEE is divided into 10 regions around the world. The East Tennessee Section is in Region 3, which is organized into 9 geographic areas. The East Tennessee Section is in Area 5, which is also called the Tennessee Section. Regions 3 sponsors an annual conference called SoutheastCon, which offers technical programs, student competitions, and regional meetings.
