CALL FOR THE FCIEEE 2008 AWARDS

It’s not to early for all sections to begin the process of selecting candidates for the 2008 Florida Council Outstanding Service, Outstanding Engineer and Outstanding Engineer Educator awards.  The nominee awards committee (all section chairmen in the Florida Council) will review and evaluate all candidates and meet the December 1, 2008 deadline for the Region 3 awards. Please begin the submission process for FCIEEE awards by emailing them to the address listed below by November 1, 2008.

The electronic forms may be used for both the FCIEEE awards and the Region 3 awards with the required two letters of endorsement included within the forms. Email addresses are acceptable as signatures. A list of past award recipients for your reference is available on the same website. Many of these awardees, could be a candidate for a different award, so please review it.  Also, many sections have been overlooking past section officers as possible award candidates. Serving as a section/chapter officer within Region 3 is also serving the Region.

The Region 3 “call for” nominations ” (for the same awards) will be handled directly to the Section Chairman by the Region 3 Awards and Recognition Chairman and has a December 1, 2008 deadline.  If awards nominations (FCIEEE or Region 3) are going to be submitted in hard copy (not the best method) a postmark of midnight November 1, 2008 will be accepted by the FCIEEE awards chairman listed below.

The important action is selecting the candidates and completing all required forms. Determining your candidates may require networking. Any candidates submitted for past awards, whether council or regional, may again be good candidates if the forms are updated. Again, do not overlook section officers. Frequently they are not considered by their section’s awards chairman and may be the best choice.

The FCIEEE awards are one of the most important functions of your council. Let’s send the best candidates from Florida to Region 3 as well as selecting recipients for our own awards. Please do not put off your selection until the last minute.
