EMC Engineer

Our Client is seeking EMC Engineers to work with their growing business in the East Tennessee area. Our client focuses their efforts in testing of process instrumentation and development of specialized test equipment and software products for power and process industries and has been the leading supplier of equipment, training and services for in-situ response time testing and on-line calibration of temperature and pressure instrumentation in nuclear power plants.

The EMC Engineer performs engineering work of various types to collect and analyze data at customer's sites using specialized data acquisition equipment and analysis software that is designed and manufactured for the client’s purposes. The EMC Engineer will confer with other engineers, clients and others to discuss existing or potential project issues and challenges. He/she will perform EMI troubleshooting of I&C and Power Systems and will work with site personnel to perform necessary root cause analysis for problem solving. Report writing will also be a key component of this role as will maintaining excellent interpersonal relationship both within the company as well as with client contacts.

Software Engineer
Our Client is seeking Software Engineers to work with their growing business in the East Tennessee area. Our client focuses their efforts in testing of process instrumentation and development of specialized test equipment and software products for power and process industries and has been the leading supplier of equipment, training, and services for in-situ response time testing and on-line calibration of temperature and pressure instrumentation in nuclear power plants.

The Software Engineer will develop engineering applications in LabVIEW for PC-based data acquisition equipment. The responsibilities will include the entire software lifecycle of obtaining the requirements, design development, coding, testing, documentation and training. This requires excellent programming skills and technique, if not already experienced with LabVIEW. The software developed will be used by other AMS engineers to perform various instrumentation and control tests of equipment in a nuclear power plant. Also, some of the software and equipment is sold to nuclear plant for their technicians to perform the testing themselves. As such, the software must be very robust and easy to use because many of the tests are only performed once every 18 months.

Systems Analyst / Project Engineer

The Systems Analyst / Project Engineer will review, test and report on software and hardware for electronic tabulating test specimens and other software testing. This work will involve system and functional testing of electronic equipment. This work requires knowledge of and experience with computers, software, computer networks, the creation of test procedures, test scripts, reports, and in thoroughly documenting results. Applicants must be able to follow detailed test procedures and interpret results.

The Systems Analyst / Project Engineer will work in a team environment on a variety of projects under the direction of a Project Manager. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment are crucial.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in computer systems, computer technology, computer science, engineering or a directly-related discipline; directly-related education plus experience totaling four years may substitute for the degree requirement (although a degree is preferred).

The position also requires three years of related experience (or if no degree, three years in addition to experience which is substituting for education). Test experience, data analysis and/or systems analysis are expected. Experience in testing tabulation devices is desired, but not required.

Job Description

Be responsible for tracking and maintaining the product EMI and EMC certification requirements for worldwide sales.

Work with members of the product development group to secure EMI/EMC certification to meet the defined worldwide standards

Document and archive test results and create Declarations of Conformance to the applicable standards

Work with members of the product development group to schedule and complete design verification testing for operating and non-operating environments. This will include temperature, humidity, shock and vibration testing for commercial grade products.

Work with third party Common Criteria Testing Labs to obtain and maintain NIAP Common Criteria Certification and listing of the Avocent secure switch product line
