Doug is a Senior EMC Compliance
Engineer with Adtran, Inc. His responsibilities include printed circuit
board schematic and artwork review, prototype testing and mitigation,
final testing and compliance reports. In addition, Doug works on new
test equipment acquisitions and the automation of laboratory test
procedures. Prior to working with Adtran, Doug was
the Engineering Group Leader for
International EMC Services with Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., in
Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. He worked with UL for over 10
years. His responsibilities included the coordination and
implementation of all new equipment and software in the EMC Laboratory,
training new staff, and maintaining laboratory operations and
accreditations. Doug assisted in the design and realization of UL RTP's
Full Service EMC Testing Laboratory which included a 10-Meter
Semi-Anechoic Chamber for emissions, a Compact Anechoic Chamber for
immunity and all associated EMC test equipment. |

Vice Chair: Jeff Whitmire
|
Jeff has 22 years of experience in the EMC field. He is an IEEE member, and and has been an EMC Society Member since 1991. In 1985 he started doing Military EMC/EMP testing while working for Boeing. In 1991 he started in commercial EMC testing in Texas. In 1993 he managed an EMC lab in Atlanta. In 1997 he started at ADTRAN as EMC engineer. Currently, Jeff manages the Compliance department at ADTRAN and is responsible for all product regulatory compliance including EMC, Safety, NEBS and Telecom approvals. Jeff earned his Associate's degree
from Blue Ridge Community College,
his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Weber
State University, and his MBA from the University of Alabama. |

Treasurer: Jim Stone
|
Jim is a Staff Engineer for
Underwriters Laboratories on-site at ADTRAN as part of Verizon's ITL
program. He is in the NEBS Compliance group providing test support and
witness for Telcordia's GR-63-CORE and GR-1089-CORE requirements which
cover NEBS Physical Protection and EMC/Safety Criteria for Network
Telecommunications Equipment, respectively. Prior to joining UL in
2005, Jim was Senior Compliance Engineer for Digital Subscriber
Products at Scientific-Atlanta, Inc. He was responsible for ensuring
that products met Safety and EMC regulatory requirements for domestic
and international markets. Jim is an Alabama registered Professional
Engineer. |
