Particular Information for Sections in the Regions 1-6

1. Every unit of IEEE that hold funds outside the IEEE Headquarters treasury a must have an Employer Identification Number (EIN), sometimes called the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).
    
2. The IRS has assigned EINs for all Sections, Councils, and Regions.
    
3. This number should be used whenever the Section is called upon to furnish a taxpayer identification number.
    
4. The Section’s EIN can be requested from the IEEE Tax Compliance office.
