IEEE Region 3 Leadership Development Committee Section Treasurer Training

1. IEEE is responsible for maintaining records for all Units Worldwide.
    
2. Section Treasurers contribute significantly by maintaining appropriate records locally and by filing timely annual reports.
    
3. Compliance with IEEE Policies and Procedures is important to maintaining the IEEE nonprofit tax-exempt status.
    
4. Delays in submitting the annual report will delay receipt of the Section’s rebate.
    
5. Sections of IEEE are not independent organizations but integral parts of IEEE.
    
6. Subsections, Chapters and Affinity Groups are sub-units of Sections. The sub-units must provide the Section Treasurer with their annual report for consolidation into the Section’s Annual Report. (Alternatively the Section Treasurer may provide separate and complete financial reports for each sub-unit.
    
7. IEEE is responsible for consolidating all Section and other reports into a single financial report for the organization each year.
