About the North Carolina Council

Formed from the NC Chapters of the IRE and AIEE in 1965, the IEEE North Carolina Council (NCC) consists of five sections: the Western NC Section, the Charlotte Section, the Winston-Salem Section, the Central (Greensboro area) Section, and the Eastern NC Section.  The NC Council, also known as Area 2, is one of 9 Areas/Councils in Region 3.  The council provides an intermediary to the sections from the region, but is supported financially by the sections.  The Council does not receive any rebate funds from IEEE headquarters.
