The Northwest Florida IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity group was established in 2006.  We are currently seeking IEEE members who are interested in supporting women in the math and science fields from youth to professional and beyond.  Additionally, we are active in the local community supporting the “I Love Science” project by volunteering to present and teach math and science principles through 30 minute hands-on experiments to the Mary Esther Elementary School.  We currently meet simultaneously with the NWF IEEE Section.  Please view the home page for section meeting dates and times.

Upcoming Events

November 19, 2009 11:00AM

Greetings from the Northwest Florida IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group!

Hello everyone,

You are cordially invited to attend the NWF IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Meet and Greet being held on Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at DRS Technologies, Inc. This meeting will serve as the icebreaker to introduce the mission and vision of WIE, meet people in the local area who may be interested in participating in WIE, and talk about how to engage people in the area to actively get involved with WIE. We will also ask for volunteers or names of people who may possibly be interested in volunteering to serve as officers for the NWF IEEE WIE Affinity Group as part of the meeting.
Lunch will be provided by the NWF IEEE Section. Please rsvp to Paulette January at paulette.january@drs-c3.com or (850)302-3383 whether or not you will be able to attend. If you know of others who may be interested in participating in WIE and would like to attend, please forward this information to them as an invitation to attend or ask them to contact me directly. You do not have to be a current member of the IEEE to attend this meeting.
