Dr. Mohannad Bataineh lost his valiant struggle with cancer on Saturday April 15th and in accordance with family tradition, was buried on Sunday April 16th.
In recognition for his many contributions to the University of West Florida and the Northwest Florida Section of IEEE, a memorial will be held in his honor. This will be an opportunity for many who knew him, worked with him, or took class with him to come and pay their respects and speak a word or two about how he touched their lives. His wife Eman will be present. Light refreshments will be provided.

Dr. Bataineh was survived by wis wife Eman and son, Kareem.
Women In Engineering Affinity Group starting

The inaugural meeting of the WIE affinity group will take place at the Emerald Coast Conference Center on May 6th. At this meeting, local females in the science and engineering field and those that have an interest in promoting women in the field of science and engineering are invited to come together to discuss creating a new affinity group with this common interest. Ms. Bonnie Kempke will be the guest speaker. Officers for 2006 will be elected and door prizes will be given.
