IEEE Orlando Section - Chairman's Corner

Welcome to 2002 a new year; I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday with your family and friends, my best wishes to you all.
It is with great honor that I accept the position of Chairman of the IEEE Central Florida Executive Committee.
We had very active and successful 2000 and 2001 under the leadership of Dr. Issa Batarseh and Dr. David Flinchbaugh, and I recognize that it will be a great challenge to improve on that, but we are going to try.
It is my stated goal to continue on the tradition of an active and vibrant section and at the same timework on increasing member's participation at all functions, sponsoring member oriented professional and social activities, and at the same time improve the engineer visibility and recognition in our community promoting and recognizing our membership participation at all levels.
We will also work on trying to reactivate existing chapters that are now inactive.
As always, all our activities are open to all members, including the EXCOM meetings, my telephone and Email address is also published in the website for your convenience.
I realize this is not an easy task specially we our hectic schedules, but I am confident that together we can do it.
Today I call on all member, old and new, active or inactive, to come forward, if you have any idea or concern, or just want to participate in any way, our doors are open, we need to hear from you because you are the IEEE.
For the enhancement of our profession, I am counting on you.
