MEETING NOTICE

When:

Tuesday, August 5, 2003; 6:30 to 8:30 PM

What:

Section ExCom meeting to discuss section activities Meeting open to members and student members. Light dinner (dine in from Atlanta Bread Co) will be provided gratis.

Where:

Boynton Beach Community High School
4975 Park Ridge Blvd
Boynton Beach, FL 33426
Room location TBD on day of meeting. Look for IEEE signage. (Lot's this time).

Directions:

From I95, exit at Gateway Blvd (Exit 59) and drive west to first traffic signal. This is High Ridge Rd. Turn left (South). This road becomes Park Ridge Blvd. Drive 1 mile through industrial park and enter campus.
From western county areas, drive east on Gateway Blvd and past Congress Ave. Drive 1/2 mile past canal to traffic signal at Park Ridge Blvd. Turn right and drive to campus. On campus, go to
main entrance located on Northeast corner of building, which is wide metal gated entryway.
School office is first immediate door to left.

WELCOME TO THE PALM BEACH eBULLETIN
The section extends a welcome to those who have started receiving the eBulletin. A new web-based membership data base has been applied from IEEE in NJ. The membership is now updated weekly, allowing for more current information. Pass out to members without
access to internet; print and post at work or school.
 

IEEE-USA GOVERNMENT FELLOWSHIPS
IEEE-USA is seeking applications for US IEEE members to spend 1 year as a staff member to Congress in 2005. The application kit can be downloaded at: www.ieeeusa.org/forum/govfel/index.html
Application deadline is February 23, 2004.
 

COMPUTER SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships and awards are offered to students. Examples include: Richard E. Merwin Student Scholarship ($3000) and Upsilon Pi Epsilon Student Award ($500).

SOUTHEASTCON 2004 CALL FOR PAPERS
SoutheastCon 2004 is the annual Region 3 Technical, Professional and Student conference and will be held March 26-28, 2004 in Greensboro, NC. Authors are invited to submit papers on any aspect of electrical and computer engineering. Due date is December 19, 2003.

SECTION ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET
The section banquet is now set in the calendar. It will be on Saturday December 6. The location is Nando's Beefeeders Restaurant in Lake Worth. Mark the date. We plan to have an enjoyable evening.
