About Us

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) (Eye-triple-E) is a non-profit technical professional association of more than 360,000 members in 175 countries.

IEEE Palm Beach section is the local entity. There are approximately 1000 members in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Okeechobee, Glades, Hendry and Highlands counties.

The section holds activities for its members; this includes monthly meetings featuring tours, lectures and presentations at which members can learn about new areas of technical interest and provide an opportunity to network. Its goal is to provide a balance between industry, education and government sectors and provide a forum for the flow of ideas and technological information.

The section contains four societies which promote technology within of its own areas of interest. These are Communications, Computer, Power Engineering and Signal Processing societies. There is also a Life Members chapter and a Student Branch chapter at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton.

The membership is composed of male and female engineers with a diverse background of employment experience in the private and public sectors.
