David L. Livingston was born in Norfolk, Virginia. He received the B.S.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
Dr. Livingston worked as a hardware design engineer for IBM Endicott, taught computer engineering at Old Dominion University, and taught electrical engineering technology and engineering fundamentals at Virginia Western Community College. He is currently a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia.
Dr. Livingston is a member of Eta Kappa Nu, A.S.E.E., the Skeptics Society, and is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He has served as Secretary/Treasurer, Vice-Chair, Chair, and a member-at-large of the executive committee of the Virginia Mountain Section and has also served as the IEEE student-branch counselor at ODU, VWCC, and VMI. Dr. Livingston is a licensed professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. His research interests include computational intelligence, robotics, and digital and embedded systems.
