Howard J. Moses has attained IEEE Life Senior Member status having joined as an undergraduate student at Rensselear Polytechnic Institute.
Mr. Moses earned the M.S.E.E. degree from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut and is a registered professional engineer. He has taught electrical engineering subjects as a full-time member of the Michigan Technological University (Houghton, MI) faculty and an adjunct evening instructor at Western New England College (Springfield, MA).
Mr. Moses entered industry as a control and instrumentation engineer at the Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Division of United Technologies. He later became Head-Electronics Advanced Development for the Hamilton Standard Division involved with gas turbine engine controls. Mr. Moses was a Director of computerized switching systems development while with United Telecommunications and subsequently served as the Vice-President Engineering for Simmonds Precision Products (aerospace power systems) and Inland Motor Division of Kollmorgen (motion control systems) as well as the Director of Business Development for the American Research Corporation of Virginia in Radford, Virginia.
He recently retired from Virginia Tech where he was the Technical Director for the NSF sponsored Center for Power Electronics Systems.
Mr. Moses has participated as a session organizer, session chairman, speaker and publications chairman in various conferences sponsored by the IEEE, SAE and AIAA as well as being an officer of technical sub-committees.Last Updated March 30, 2010
