Recent Milwaukee IEEE Tours - 2006IEEE wants to thank very much everyone who participated in the recent tour of the G.E. Medical CT facility in Pewaukee and the University of Wisconsin Synchrotron Center (SRC) in Madison Wisconsin. We especially want to thank the personnel at GE and Chris Moore at the SRC for making these tours possible. Tour participants on the G.E. tour got to see the state of the art in the development and manufacturing of the new G.E. 64 slice CT machine. The tour included observation of actual system testing along with an inside look at the process for putting together one these complicated machines. On April 8, 2006 the IEEE also held a tour of the U of W SRC center. Tour participants saw Wisconsin own contribution to the world of Physics. The SRC is a world class source of extreme ultraviolet light and soft X-rays that uses a medium size synchrotron, accelerating electrons, to produce the light and X-rays. SRC staff took us on an insider’s tour of the equipment and on-going experiments. Photos of the SRC center are below. Continue to watch this space for other upcoming events and tours. |
