Interaction Between Wind Farms and Weather Radar

Geoffrey Grochocinski has been an intern meteorologist at the Grand Forks, ND National Weather Service (NWS) Forecast Office since November 2007. Geoff developed a longtime fascination for the weather after an F5 tornado struck his nearby Chicago suburb of Plainfield in 1990, leading him to desire being involved with storm warnings at the NWS. He received his B.S. degree in atmospheric physics at Iowa State University in 2006. Geoff worked in the private sector before joining the federal government, first forecasting for energy and agricultural interests at Chesapeake Energy Corporation, followed by forecasting for utility companies at DTN/Meteorlogix.
