Region 4 - Central USA

Last month, Dr. Hossein Mousavinezhad and I attended the IEEE Region IV Executive Committee meeting in Chicago. I represented the Section and Hossein assumed responsibilities as the Regional Conferences Committee Chair. Region IV serves IEEE members in all or parts of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Ohio, and Wisconsin, USA and Windsor Area Canada. In addition to being updated on greater IEEE activities and sharing Section experiences we also addressed the geographical divisions of our Section and the neighboring Michiana Section.

Our Bylaws have been updated to include Berrien, VanBuren and Cass counties and these Bylaws have been submitted for Regional approval. If approved this change will result in the inclusion of EVI Audio, Whirlpool, Digital Interface Systems and other companies into the Section. I will keep you informed as to the formal status of this change and I welcome member feedback in this matter.
