Bio/Abstract
Dr.
Garbe is a professor at University of Hannover (Germany) and is a
distinguished lecturer for the EMC Society. Regarding the topic for
the evening, the emissions standards for information technology equipment
(CISPR22 and EN55022) have added a conducted emissions test requirement for
telecommunications cables which include Ethernet local area network (LAN)
cables. This becomes mandatory for the European Union beginning
August 2007. Dr. Garbe will bring us the European perspective on the
need for this LAN cable testing, the types of problems seen, and methods to
design products to pass this new test requirement the first time. He
will also address the three versions of Impedance Stabilization Networks (ISN)
designs that have been mandated by the different releases of CISPR22 and
EN55022 since 1998.
