Table Of Contents
The IEEE Communications Society is:
A diverse group of industry professionals with a common interest in advancing all communications technologies. To that end, the Society sponsors publications, conferences, educational programs, local activities, and technical committees that:
- Foster original work in all aspects of communications science, engineering, and technology.
- Encourage the development of applications that use signals to transfer voice, data, image, and/or video information between locations.
- Promote the theory and use of systems involving all types of terminals, computer, and information processors; all pertinent systems and operations that facilitate transfer; all transmission media; switched and un-switched networks; and network layouts, protocols, architectures, and implementations.
- And strongly advance developments toward meeting new market demands in systems, products, and technologies such as personal communications services, multimedia communications systems, enterprise networks, and optical communications systems.

Thomas holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Western Michigan University. He has also studied Computer Science at Arizona State University, Florida Atlantic University and Carnegie Mellon. Thomas has a 25 year career in the communications field. He has developed hardware and software for the Space Shuttle, defense industry satellite systems, paging systems and cellular infrastructure systems. Thomas is a Member of Technical Staff at Motorola, Fort Worth, Texas.

Steve holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Florida and a MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University. He has been performing software design and development in the defense and telecommunications industries. He is a Senior Engineering Specialist at Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems in Fort Worth and is defining Signal Processing hardware and software architectures for use in aircraft.

John holds a BS Physics degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia, 1986 and a MS Computer Science from The University of Texas at Arlington, 1993. He has been working in various utility fields developing systems software for telecommunications, electrical, and flight systems. John is the principle technical consultant of AO Associates, Inc. in Arlington, TX.
