Oklahoma Regional Future City Competition

Our Oklahoma City Section is a major organizer for the Competition. The Oklahoma Regional Coordinator is Todd Hiemer, PE representing Oklahoma Engineering Foundation, OSPE and the IEEE organization.

We always need school mentors for several schools across the state of Oklahoma.  This is a small time commitment between October and January compared to the rewards.  Mentoring a school is a great way to reinvigorate your passion for engineering though showing 7th and 8th grade students what engineering is about and the way engineers tackle large complex problems.

If you know of a student in 7th or 8th grade, we are always looking to get more schools involved.  You can help Todd contact the appropriate teacher or school official to enroll the school.

You are especially invited to judge the different portions of the competition in Oklahoma City during December and January.  We will start judging the computer design and essays in December.  We judge the city models and student presentations at the competition on a Saturday in January.

The regional winner will be sent to Washington DC to participate in the National competition to be held during Engineers Week which is the last full week of February.
