        Title:  Electrical Engineer (analog, digital, embedded microprocessor systems)

     Duties:
1.      Research new technologies for embedded systems for Life Forms including microprocessors, ASICs, sensors, actuators, imagers and transducers
2.      Research new industry developments and technologies related to robotics
3.      Evaluate and summarize differences and tradeoffs amongst technology choices including performance, cost, manufacturability, reliability and safety
4.      Evaluate purchased and self-designed prototypes and evaluation boards for demonstration of feasibility and suitability for future products
5.      Design, create schematics, guide PCA layout, debug and demonstrate working sub-assemblies suitable for eventual integration into new products
6.      Create specifications and requirements documents for new microprocessor, battery power management and sensory subsystems.
7.      Assist with LifeOS architectural development and evolution
8.      Assess system performance and resource bottlenecks and create solutions
9.      Organize and sequence work associated with complex designs
10.     Lead and participate in design reviews
11.     Support the firmware team with technical understanding and driver development
12.     Work closely with mechanical engineers to create optimum electromechanical designs
13.     Work with 3rd parties for detailed design implementation
14.     Work closely with the platform development team for effective implementations

      Additional skills:
1.      Knowledge of ARM, PCI ATMega and similar embedded systems
2.      Broad knowledge in analog, digital, mixed-signal and control systems
3.      Keen interest in tracking new technologies
4.      Strong creativity for creating new solutions to difficult problems
5.      Knowledge of switching power supply design for PCA voltage conversion
6.      Knowledge of battery technologies, charging methods, etc
7.      Familiarity with design considerations for reliability and safety
8.      Strong understanding of hardware/software interactions and architectural optimization
9.      Ability to lead and to take direction from others
10.     Ability to share ideas and welcome ideas from others
11.     Ability to write low-level firmware to test/evaluate prototype hardware

    Title:  Programmer (code for embedded systems, code integration and build, create tools)

Location: Boise, Idaho

       Duties:
1.      Write maintainable and well documented code for micro-controllers (PIC, ATMega, etc) and embedded systems (ARM7/ARM9 w/RTOS)
2.      Optimize code for performance on embedded systems with limited resources
3.      Work with other software developers to integrate their code and perform top-level build
4.      Organize and sequence work associated with complex designs
5.      Create SW tools such as monitors, log generators and test scripts
6.      Document, test and maintain code using revision control systems.
7.      Lead and participate in peer design reviews and code reviews.
8.      Gain an understanding of LifeOS structure including RTOS, driver level, middleware and application layer.
9.      Contribute ideas to architectural improvements to our software firmware system.
10.     Create test code for prototype evaluation and manufacturing test.
11.     Create accurate schedule estimates for your work and meet schedule commitments
12.      Conduct research on emerging software products, languages, standards and tools
13.      Support QA and internal testing with mentoring, training and tools

       Additional skills:
1.      Knowledge of Windows and MAC drivers, driver signing and WHQL activities
2.      Knowledge of USB and Wireless protocol stacks
3.      Ability to lead and to take direction from others
4.      Ability to share ideas and welcome ideas from others
5.      Programming experience on a broad array of embedded systems
6.      Experience with scripting languages such as Python and Pawn
7.      Strong teamwork and communication skills

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (BUILDING SYSTEMS) FOR IDAHO FALLS

 Michael Baker Jr., Inc. is a top 40 ENR Design firm with over 40 offices nationwide.  We are expanding in Idaho Falls and looking for Designers/Draftsmen with experience in Building Systems.

 Qualifications include a BSEE with 5 to 10 years experience in Facility (Building) design in the areas of Commercial, Institutional/Higher Education, Light Industrial, or Government Projects.  PE Required.  Strong written and verbal communications skills required.  The position provides opportunities for designer of record (familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation) responsibility and professional growth in an expanding organization.  There are also some opportunities for national and international work related travel.  Applicants should demonstrate the willingness to operate in a team environment with limited supervisory direction.  Technical requirements include proficiency with SKM modeling software.

Northwest Lineman College 

Northwest Lineman College is looking for someone to author a lesson on "Solid State Fundamentals" which will become part of the curriculum for power substation technician training.  The section section would be approximately 50-60 pages of 50% text and 50% graphics.  It would cover diodes, logic gates, rectifiers, transducers, etc. Payment will be in the range of $3000 to $6000 depending upon quality and completeness.  Authors will be provided a sample section along with an outline to follow.
