Senior Member Clinic - August 29, 2009:

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS

If you have been an IEEE member for 7 years and have a Bachelor of Science degree you may be eligible for elevation to Sr. Member.   The IEEE Foothill Section and the IEEE Los Angeles Council will be holding a Senior Member Clinic on August 29, 2009 and all qualified candidates are encourage to submit applications.   Applications will be accepted up to August 8.  Please download the detailed announcement in [PDF] or [MSWord] format.

There are a number of upcoming professional activities that would be of interest to all Foothill IEEE Members. Dr Narisa Chu is the chair for the San Fernando IEEE section. She reports that JPL is prepared to give an excellent set of talks on what the JPL software folks how found from experience in designing and developing "successful working" software for their critical space applications. August 2009 IEEE Senior Member Elevation Meeting. Please look for this meeting e-mail announcement, or contact Dr Ilir Progni of the Foothill IEEE Section at ifprogri@verizon.net, or ifprogri@ieee.org, October 2009, on a Friday date TBD, the Coastal LA IEEE section will sponsor a full day of talks on antennas, EM propagation, and microware device and filter design areas in the LAX area. Stay tuned for more information. This will be their Third Annual meeting. This should be of interest to the EE student chapter members in the Foothill Section area, since many of the talks will start at the tutorial level.
