Job Description: CE Mechanical Thermal Power group within SPTG
is looking for an experienced Sr. Hardware Engineer, who can develop highly
reliable power systems/ front end power supplies/ board-mount power supplies
for Cisco's High End networking products.
Responsibilities:
If you are experienced in designing/ developing high power and high density
front end DC and AC input power supplies or board mount power supplies, Cisco
Power Engineering Group is looking for you. You will be a key contributor
to the design and development team and will be responsible for the creation of
highly reliable power systems and power supplies.
Skills/ Requirements are:
Minimum 5 years of experience working as a power design engineer for high power
redundant front end DC and AC input power supplies/ board-mount power supplies/
system level power architecture for Networking and Telecom equipments.
Experience with schematic capture tools such as Mentor Graphic ePD and board
layout review tools such as Allegro Physical viewer.
Experience with signal integrity analysis for power.
Experience with proto power system troubleshooting and initial power bring-up
with proficient digital power management controller programming skills.
Expertise in power conversion topologies/ tradeoffs, analog circuit designs,
and circuit simulations.
Experience with resolving EMI, EMC, regulatory compliance issues.

Skills/ Requirements are:
Ability to be involed from conception to high volume manufacturing
Electrical design and/or selection of of DC-DC converters
AC/DC power supply development, working closely with PSU vendors
High density dc-dc circuit design and layout
Ability to troubleshoot, evaluate and test designs
Familiar with simulation and analysis methods for power supplies
Familiar with simulation and analysis methods for power supplies
Design knowledge of off-line power supplies and adapters including Power Factor Correction.
Great understanding of analog fundamentals in the design of power electronics.
Has demonstrated ability to design, and ship a product
Hands-on lab experience is essential

Effective interaction with other engineering disciplines skills a must
A highly motivated, organized and self managed individual contributor is needed to fill this role
