IEEE Region 6, Southwest Area Meeting
and
Student Paper
Contest Was Held
Meeting Report
follows:
I want to
congratulate the winners of the IEEE Region 6,
Southwest Area
Student Paper Contest held April 13, 2002
at DeVry University
in Phoenix. I also want to congratulate
the other paper
contestant because your papers and
presentations were
all top notched.
The competition was
very close. We had 10 extremely great
papers. The judging
was extremely close. However, the judges
concluded only one
1st, one 2nd, and one 3rd place paper.
To give you an idea
how close the vote count was, there were
9 judges and the
first vote had 6 papers ranked in first place.
Out of 200 hundred
points the point spread between first and
last place was only about 20 points , that is
a credit to all
of the participants.
Winning papers
include:

The students made the decision to have the
October area

The exact date will
be decided within a few weeks. The October

include the Student Leadership Training and section

Exact date is TBD but please put October 5th
