| Title: Fast computational methods for complex
Micro-electronic and Photonic packages and interconnects | |
| Speaker: Professor Safieddin Safavi-Naeini Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science University of Waterloo |
| Abstract: Fast computational techniques are essential for exploring new circuit configurations and optimizing novel interconnect structures required in future generation information systems and networks. Innovative packaging/interconnect techniques and signal integrity issues have become the focus of numerous R&D efforts in the areas of high-speed digital circuits, RF/microwave/millimeter wave integrated circuits and antennas, and RF-photonics integrated technologies world-wide. In this talk, after a brief introduction of RF/Microwave and Photonics Group at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Waterloo, our research on fast computational methods for Electromagnetics and photonics is described in more detail. High pin-count complex package modeling, application of EP/GA modeling schemes, "parametric" green function approach, GO/PO and GBT/PO approach as well as hybrid schemes for complex photonic interconnects will be presented. | |
