Abstract: The hostility of many environmentalists to nuclear power and the desire of the business community to privatize Ontario Hydro have combined to blind Ontarians to the very great environmental and economic costs of abandoning nuclear power both here and in the third world. This presentation will make clear these consequences and predict the Harris government plans for the privatization of Ontario Hydro and the deregulation of the industry in Ontario.
This IEEE-sponsored presentation is part of the Interdisciplinary Conference on the evolution of World Order to be held June 3-6, 1999 at Ryerson Polytechnical University, Toronto, Canada.
Time and Location: Thursday, June 3, 1999. Please consult conference web pages for further details.
